It’s A Vengeance

I went back the place where I worked as waitress, where I met a lot of wonderful friends from Myanmar. Holding on with me was The Star Newspaper, and the headline was the Myanmar’s deadly cyclone.

I should have been more thoughtful.

They saw the paper. The next thing I remembered, they gathered around it. And I thought I saw tears in their eyes.

They told me they were okay. I knew it wasn’t so simple. Until one of them told in private that they had try to contact their families back there for two days. But all the phone lines were disconnected. No one knew whether or not their families survived.

I wish I could say something to them. But to tell you the truth, I didn’t know what to say. Because even though I sympathize the Burmese, I don’t know what it really feels like to have all your childhood memories destroyed; all the familiar sceneries gone; the friendly faces they would not be able to see again; and the love that is lost forever.

With death toll almost reaching 100k(predicted) and a few villages entirely wiped out, leaving no survivors behind, this is no ordinary natural disaster. The worst is, there’s no way to stop these natural disasters from coming. They are very unpredictable, sometimes even the most advanced technology is not able to detect them.

Knowing all these, I can’t help to curse on humankind.

Curse ourselves for betraying mother nature.

And now She is taking revenge.

Dear Lord,

May You watch over those that was affected, may You give them protection, be it a shelf, food supplies, water supplies, or even medical supplies.. ensuring each of the affected being taken care of.

Heavenly Father, I especially pray to comfort to those that yet to know if their loved ones are still alive, bless them with strength mentally to pull through this hard time.

I don’t know what else I could do… but only hope our prayers heard…

Please help them O Lord.

In Jesus Name, I prayed,
AMEN
